A Christmas for PWs

A Christmas for PWs

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through my heart,
I felt the ache of distance, the pain of being apart.
The tree was trimmed, the lights softly aglow,
But the emptiness lingered, a love the world doesn’t know.

While others toast cheer with laughter and wine,
I cherish a letter, each word a lifeline.
A phone call, a visit, a memory we share,
Moments of connection to show that we care.

No stockings are hung for us side by side,
But the bond that we’ve built fills me with pride.
Through walls and through wires, our love finds a way,
To shine like a beacon on this holiday.

I sit by the fire, the room feels so still,
Dreaming of the future, of hopes to fulfill.
Each star in the sky whispers promises true,
That no distance can break what’s between me and you.

So, here’s to the wives, with hearts strong and wide,
Carrying love through the season with dignity and pride.
May peace find your spirit, may hope bring you light,
Merry Christmas, dear sisters, and to all, a good night.
