How to Stay Mentally and Emotionally Strong When the Heat and Emotions Rise

1. Take Care of Your Body and Your Spirit
Visits during summer can be physically draining. The combination of long drives, stuffy waiting areas, and minimal air conditioning can be a lot to handle. Bring extra water, snacks, cooling cloths, and anything else that helps you feel comfortable. Just as important is caring for your emotional health. That could mean journaling, sharing your feelings with a support group, or giving yourself permission to unplug and rest.
