The why:

During the years that we have been together, one of the activities that has brought us the most joy has been to read together. Whether it’s reading to each other over the phone every night, sending books to surprise one-another, or discussing books at length, we have always held a special place in our heart for connecting through literature.

While being an active member of multiple social media groups, I noticed that there was a genuine need for book recommendations for incarcerated loved ones. Every couple is different and that means they each deserve the care and attention of custom “Read-a-Like” lists and recommendations.

We have also had to navigate the Texas carceral system for over a decade and want to help those who are new to the processes behind incarceration. With K’s sentence coming to an end, we are focused on assisting others trying to understand the parole process and find resources for reintegration.

This is Chapters and Chains

Welcome to Chapters and Chains – I created this site for those looking for a way to connect with a loved one who is incarcerated and who are navigating the complex correctional systems across the United States.

Find out more about us in this LWW Podcast .

Here you will find ways to connect through reading and books with your loved one, information on how to put parole packets together, resources for reintegration and helpful planning documents. All resources are and will always be free or low-cost.
